Reputation Management
Nothing Matters More than Reputation
Our many years of research with schools and universities internationally have led us to conclude that nothing is more valuable than a positive and clear reputation. Above all, it leads directly to positive ‘word of mouth’ which is the most effective driver of reputation for the education sector.
Whilst we have found parents, teachers/academics, support staff and management in schools all seem comfortable with the concept of “reputation”, many remain uneasy with the commercial and product connotations of concepts such as “branding” and “marketing” (expensive, commercial, and superficial). This is because the concept of Reputation is more closely associated with people focused, professional services such as education.
Reputation management must be a strategic and proactive activity. It is about management of the perception of interest holders: students, parents, staff, community, wider community, associations etc. It should not be confused with public relations, which is tactical and reactive.
What we know is that the reputation of a school or university is determined as a result of accumulated activity – more by what we do (reality), than by what we say (rhetoric). Evidence of credentials, communications that shape perception and creating a sense that the institution is “on the move” to a desired standing are vitally important to building the reputation of your school or university.
Why choose us?
We have over 20 years of experience in helping schools and universities to optimize their reputation, first by providing formal benchmarking and analysis, followed by the implementation of reputational action and change processes.
We have also developed The Reputation Assessor, a research based tool that incorporates an online methodology to assess reputation in international schools among various stakeholders and then create an authentic and impactful reputation management response.
